The upcoming TV anime The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife (JP: 透明男と人間女～そのうち夫婦になるふたり～) has been officially announced for a 2026 broadcast. Alongside the news, a teaser PV and the main cast members for Akira Tounome and Shizuka Yakou have been unveiled.

Originally serialized in 2021, this heartwarming and emotionally stirring romantic comedy follows the love story between Akira Tounome, a courteous invisible man, and Shizuka Yakou, a serene human woman who is blind. The teaser PV offers a glimpse into their unique “invisible” relationship that delicately balances tenderness and longing.

The teaser also introduces their voices for the first time: Yohei Azakami will portray the invisible yet dignified Akira Tounome, while Yuka Nukui will voice Shizuka Yakou, whose gentle demeanor contrasts with her vivid imagination as someone inexperienced in love.

I’m Yohei Azakami, voicing Akira Tounome. Interestingly, this is my second time playing this role. A while ago, I took part in a segment where we dubbed manga panels, and by chance, the title was The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife. That was my first encounter with the original work, and even though it was a brief role, I got to voice Akira.

I was immediately drawn to the warm and gentle atmosphere of the story. I remember thinking, 'I’d love to play Tounome if this ever gets adapted into an anime.' So when I was offered the role, I couldn’t help but feel it was fate. I approach this project with a focus on not just being seen, but being felt. I hope the warmth we put into our performances reaches all of you through the screen. Thank you for your support.

■ Yuka Nukui (as Shizuka Yakou)

I’m Yuka Nukui, and I have the honor of voicing Shizuka Yakou. I’ve loved this work for a long time and was determined to land this role when I auditioned. I’m beyond thrilled and honored.

Shizuka is pure-hearted and playful, with a slight tendency to daydream due to her inexperience with love—she’s such a lovable character. This project uses the 'pre-scoring' method, where we record voices before the animation is created. That allowed us, as a cast, to focus deeply on the invisible elements—emotions, atmosphere, and unspoken connections. It was a truly enjoyable and moving experience.

I hope you’ll embrace the gentle, heart-tingling moments between Akira and Shizuka, their fun times with the detective agency team, and the world that surrounds them. Please look forward to the warm and precious moments spun by this 'invisible' pair.
