CITY THE ANIMATION Episode 2 Story & Preview Released: Introducing the Underdog CITY Minami Eleven!

Kyoto Animation has unveiled the story and preview stills for Episode 2 of its TV anime, CITY THE ANIMATION. The episode will air in Japan on Monday, July 14 at 12:00 a.m. JST on TOKYO MX and other networks, with a global release to follow.

Episode 1

It’s Midori Nagumo vs. Niikura—who just wants her money back. When Wako Izumi jumps into the fray, chaos descends on their campus life. Meanwhile, the CITY Minami Eleven, the school's underdog soccer team, hatches a plan to protect their star player, Genjiro Sasago, who’s always getting injured. Over at Weekly CITY, Todoroki pleads with the editor-in-chief for the future of Mr. Disappointment. It's a test of the bond between writer and editor—just as the sun sets over CITY.

About CITY THE ANIMATION

CITY THE ANIMATION is based on the manga CITY, a "girls-run" comedy by Keiichi Arawi, serialized in Kodansha’s Morning magazine from 2016 to 2021. The story depicts the lives of slightly unusual people living in an otherwise ordinary "CITY", focusing on a variety of characters, including penniless college student Midori Nagumo, as well as Niikura and Wako.
