Tatsunoko Production Launches New Publishing Label “TEEM BOOK” — First Series Features a Conflict-Driven Heroic Duo Battling Variant

Tatsunoko Production announced on the 13th the launch of its new publishing label, TEEM BOOK, founded on the concept of “universality, contemporaneity, and originality.”

Established in 1962, Tatsunoko Production is a renowned animation studio known for producing hit series across a wide range of genres, including Mach GoGoGo, Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, and the Time Bokan series. Guided by its motto, “Bringing dreams to children around the world,” the studio has created numerous beloved works.
Leveraging the planning and development expertise cultivated through its animation projects, TEEM BOOK aims to create new IPs and manga titles. The label's name, “TEEM,” is derived from the acronym Tatsunoko Entertains Everyone More.

“Servant Hero” Kicks Off the Label’s First Manga Series

The first title under the TEEM BOOK label is an original manga series titled Servant Hero. The project is a collaboration between Tatsunoko Production and TEEM BOOK, with Bookmark Japan overseeing editorial work. This ambitious work introduces a new kind of Tatsunoko hero.

The manga is illustrated by Sho Takahashi, based on an original concept by Suzuki. The story structure is handled by Onozuka, with scripts written by Yamadori and Onozuka. The project was planned by Marie Matsunaga.

A World Where Variants Must Wear Collars

The story is set in a world where mutants—referred to as “Variants”—are required to wear collars that suppress the use of their powers. In this world, a special force known as the Variant Suppression Unit, or VS Unit, is granted limited authority to use these very powers in service of the state.

Kento Satomi, a hardened warrior numb to the cries of those who resist the system, serves in this unit. He is paired with Otomaro Kazanin, a rookie with unwavering pride in his role as a hero. Despite their clashing ideals, the two must work together to confront the harsh realities of their mission.

The manga Servant Hero will be exclusively pre-released on Comic Cmoa (Japanese comic platform) starting from midnight on the 13th.
