Introduction
Seiichirou Kondou, a salaryman approaching his 30s, is unexpectedly transported to the Kingdom of Romani through a Holy Maiden Summoning. A workaholic through and through, he insists on finding a job even in the other world and joins the palace's accounting department.
One day, while restructuring the department, he receives a “restorative elixir” that miraculously cures his chronic fatigue and ailments. However, due to his lack of magical resistance, the side effects push him to the brink of death. To survive, he must have someone with magic stabilize his body—and that someone is Aresh Indrak, the “Prince of Ice” and commander of the Third Order. Seiichirou must entrust his body to him...

Comments from the Original Creators
Yatsuki Wakatsu (Original Author)
I can't believe “The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter” is being adapted into an anime. This was only made possible thanks to all the fans—thank you so much. It’s a surreal feeling to see my story first become a manga, and now an anime. I’m deeply grateful to everyone involved.
Even in another world, our tireless workaholic Seiichirou keeps going, baffling those around him. And watching the cool-headed Aresh slowly turn into the group's “mom” is a delight. I hope you enjoy watching these lively characters come to life on screen.
Kikka (Illustrator)
Congratulations on the anime adaptation!
As both the illustrator and a viewer, I’m thrilled to finally see the characters in motion. I’m incredibly grateful to be a part of this project.
Kazuki Irodori (Manga Artist)
Congrats on the anime adaptation of “The Other World's Books Depend on the Bean Counter”!
Even after being transported to another world, Kondou can’t shake his work obsession—and Aresh can’t leave him alone. I’m excited to see the unique relationships among the characters animated.
As a fan of the original work, I’m genuinely looking forward to it. My heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved in the production.
Staff Comments
Shinji Ishihira (Director)
DEEN’s Mr. Saito enthusiastically recommended this title, saying “It’s really good!”—and that’s how I ended up directing it.
I’ve worked on many isekai titles before, but this was my first time seeing BL blended into the genre—what a refreshing surprise.
Seiichirou’s lines and monologues are calculated and logical, yet he feels oddly unreliable, like a strategist character in an MMORPG. It’s perfect for animation, and I’m confident it will make a compelling show.
Aresh’s changing dynamic with Seiichirou is another highlight. The supporting characters are also colorful and quirky, like Kamil, Zoltan, and Cipriano. Even characters like Yuai, who may seem stereotypical at first glance, reveal unexpected depth as the story progresses.
Beyond romance, there’s plenty of intrigue and political maneuvering to enjoy—please look forward to it!
Kosuke Yamada (Assistant Director)
I’m serving as the assistant director for this series.
It’s been a pleasure bringing to life the tale of a modern-day workaholic building warm relationships in a fantasy world. I hope you enjoy the lively interactions among the many unique characters.
Yoshiko Nakamura (Series Composition)
Seiichirou sees himself as a “corporate drone,” but I see him as a true professional. Watching him tackle various challenges in another world is incredibly satisfying. And his slowly evolving relationship with Aresh adds an exciting touch.
I hope everyone enjoys watching their journey in the anime.
Maki Fujii (Character Designer)
When I first heard about this project, the keywords “isekai,” “BL,” and “corporate slave” overwhelmed me in the best way possible.
I hope viewers enjoy both the charming characters and Seiichirou’s deeply relatable struggles as a workaholic.
Megumi Ohashi (Music Composer)
When I heard about this project, my reaction was: “Isekai? BL? And a corporate worker?!” But after reading the original, I was quickly drawn into its unique world.
I crafted the music with care to reflect both the fantastical setting and the characters’ emotional journeys. I hope the music enhances your viewing experience.
Main Cast Comments
Kento Ito (Seiichirou Kondou)
It’s been a few years since Maeno and I recorded the voice comic PV together, and I kept hearing how much people wanted an anime version. So I’m genuinely happy to be involved again with the same cast.
Seiichirou is the ultimate workaholic—but in a positive way? He’s someone who loves to work so much that he pushes himself without even realizing it. I think many viewers will relate to him. Please watch as he embarks on this strange yet precious journey.
Tomoaki Maeno (Aresh Indrak)
I’m honored to reprise my role as Aresh, just like in the voice comic PV.
I clearly remember saying back then how much I’d love to see an anime version. The pacing with Ito during our recordings was really fun, and I hope to deliver that same energy to both longtime fans and new viewers alike. I’ll give it my all—thank you for your support!
Seiichirou Yamashita (Norbert)
I’m Seiichirou Yamashita, playing Norbert.
Isekai reincarnation has become a major genre now, but this series brings a refreshing new take. Coincidentally, I share the same first name as the protagonist, which makes me feel an odd connection! I’ll do my best to support his journey.
Hiroki Touchi (Kamil)
Hello, I’m Hiroki Touchi, playing Kamil.
It’s not often I get to work on BL projects, especially in an isekai setting, but I’ll do my best. Please look forward to it!
