Dr. STONE Season 4 Episode 17 Story and Scene Previews Released: Senku and Team Embark on a Life-or-Death Mountain Crossing!

The story and stills of Episode 17 from the final season of Dr.STONE (SCIENCE FUTURE) have been unveiled. This Episode is set to premiere on August 7 (Thursday) at 10:00 PM JST on Japan’s TOKYO MX, followed by global distribution on various platforms.

Senku has handed Nikki and her team a critical mission: uncover the secrets behind the petrification device. To get to the bottom of its mysterious mechanics, they bring master watchmaker Joel back into the fold. With his expert eye and steady hands, Joel manages to pinpoint the device’s energy source—an essential step toward unraveling its true power.

Elsewhere, Senku and his group are still on the run, doing everything they can to stay one step ahead of Stanley’s relentless pursuit. Their solution? A makeshift ropeway, stretching across treacherous terrain. It's not exactly safe, but with no time to spare, they put their faith in science—and each other—and take the plunge across the mountains.

Every step forward takes them deeper into the Amazon, where the jungle doesn’t pull any punches. But just when it seems the challenges might never end, they stumble upon something that stops them in their tracks—an astonishing sight, unlike anything they expected.

What is Dr.STONE?

Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon petrified all of humanity in an instant... A science prodigy, Senku Ishigami, awakens in a stone world devoid of civilization. Using his genius intellect, he embarks on an epic adventure to rebuild the world through the power of science.

The TV anime Dr.STONE is based on the manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2017 to 2022, created by Riichiro Inagaki (story) and Boichi (art). The manga received accolades like 2nd place in the Next Manga Award 2018 (Comics Division) and the Shogakukan Manga Award (Shonen Division), surpassing 18 million copies in circulation.

The anime debuted in July 2019, followed by its second season in 2021, a special in 2022, and the third season, Dr.STONE NEW WORLD, in 2023. The upcoming fourth season, titled Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, will air across three split cours starting in 2025. Its announcement in August 2024 created a massive buzz on social media.
