Acclaimed creator Tatsuki Fujimoto, known for Chainsaw Man and Look Back, will see eight of his one-shot stories, created between the ages of 17 and 26, adapted into anime. The anthology series, titled Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26, will be available to stream exclusively worldwide on Prime Video starting November 8, 2025. Alongside the announcement came a key visual, a teaser trailer, and a comment from Fujimoto himself.
The adaptations cover eight works, from his very first manga award submission A Couple Clucking Chickens Were Still Kickin' in the Schoolyard to Sasaki Stopped a Bullet, Love is Blind, Shikaku, Mermaid Rhapsody, Woke-Up-as-a-Girl Syndrome, Nayuta of the Prophecy, and Sisters. Seven directors, including Tetsuaki Watanabe (Blue Lock), Nobuyuki Takeuchi (Fireworks, Should We See It from the Side or the Bottom? (If: Moshimo)), and Kazuaki Terasawa (The Ancient Magus’ Bride SEASON 2), are leading the anthology. Six animation studios (ZEXCS, Lapintrack, GRAPH77, 100studio, Studio Kafka, and P.A.WORKS) are handling production across the episodes.
The voice cast features prominent actors, including Kensho Ono, Shun Horie, Kana Hanazawa, and Tomokazu Sugita. They are joined by comedian Yoichi Okano, showcasing a diverse lineup of talent.
The newly released trailer showcases works that are often considered precursors to Chainsaw Man and Look Back, such as Nayuta of the Prophecy and Sisters. The key visual captures the essence of all eight stories in one striking image, accompanied by the tagline, "The Origin Starts to Move." This collection channels Fujimoto’s passion and intensity into a new medium.
In his statement, Fujimoto commented:
"I was worried that works I made during my student days might not stand on their own or rely too much on borrowed inspiration. However, even though I haven’t seen them yet, I believe that, thanks to the talent of the directors involved, these one-shots have truly been transformed into complete works.”
