First up was an audio commentary by Makoto Koichi (Lloyd) and Kaede Higuchi (theme song artist) for Episodes 13 and 14 (Season 2, Episodes 1 and 2).

Exclaiming, “The direction here is amazing!” “Gave me chills!” they were impressed by the detailed animation, while also picking up on foreshadowing and hidden depth in the scenes they hadn’t noticed before. Higuchi went on to gush about her favorite character Saria and even enjoyed “what-if” talk like “which magic would you want to try?”

Then came Koichi’s surprise revelation: Lloyd’s inner monologues in Episode 14 were all improvised! She admitted she first struggled with what Lloyd should mutter during battle but prepared by deeply analyzing Lloyd’s mindset. “Thinking about Lloyd’s feelings was so much fun. I think being able to do this came from running with the character all the way from Season 1,” Koichi reflected. Higuchi clapped in awe, saying, “That’s amazing!” “You’re completely one with Lloyd!”
Talk also turned to Higuchi’s OP theme CALLING†. When asked about her first impression of the Season 2 OP video, she said, “It had gag scenes slipped in, mysterious ‘Who is this person?’ moments… it really represented Season 2 of Seventh Prince. I was so happy!”

On recording challenges, she confessed, “I haven’t really revealed this before, but… I wrote the lyrics with Lloyd’s perspective in mind, while also considering the feelings of other characters. In Season 1, it was sung entirely from Lloyd’s position, but this time, I wanted to include the past and emotions of multiple characters, which made it tough.” Her passion and strong attachment to the song excited viewers, with reactions like: “So glad to hear her thoughts directly!” “God-tier OP!” “So it really was intentional!”

Explosive love for their faves!? Koichi, Sekine, Matsui, and Tsuda reflect on Seventh Prince!

In the recap live special, Makoto Koichi, Akira Sekine (Tao), Eriko Matsui (Shiro), and Minami Tsuda (Saria) looked back on Season 2 highlights. They shared recording stories, cheered during intense battle scenes, and laughed through the gag moments.

When reminiscing about a pancake-eating scene, someone chimed in, “We went out for pancakes after recording, didn’t we?” bringing back sweet memories.

The “Seventh Cast Girls’ Talk” corner revealed each cast member’s “favorite character.” Sekine, drawn to villains, chose Gitan, saying, “His deep voice is so captivating… it pierces right through me.” Matsui, always attracted to protagonists, picked Lloyd: “Koichi perfectly plays both his cute and cool sides. As the main character, he’s just so cool, I can’t help but support him!” Tsuda praised Shiro, “She’s just so cute! Matsui’s performance is incredible.” Hearing Shiro’s recorded cries during sessions even made her want to “pet” Shiro.

Finally, Koichi chose Lloyd’s brother, Albert: “I love that the ‘light attribute’ older brother isn’t the protagonist.” She laughed, “He looks like the perfect light-hero type, but his extreme brother complex so much he could even destroy a kingdom makes the gap amazing!” Everyone nodded at the deep character analysis.

They also discovered unexpected commonalities when talking about hobbies and club activities. Tsuda revealed she was in choir, and both Koichi and Matsui excitedly replied, “Me too!” causing a stir. Sekine sheepishly admitted she was in brass band, but quickly added, “We sang in practice too!” revealing that all four had strong ties to music. “We need a ‘Seventh Choir’!” the MC Haruka Mori joked, and everyone agreed enthusiastically.

Other fun corners included guessing games like “What’s this? Mini concert!” using instruments on hand. The whole program is now streaming free!

Season 2 Overview

〈INTRODUCTION〉
In magic, the most important things are “family lineage,” “talent,” and “effort.” A magician who deeply loved magic but lacked both bloodline and talent met an untimely end. In his final moments, he wished, “If only I could’ve mastered magic further, studied it more deeply…”

When he opened his eyes again, he had been reborn as Lloyd, the seventh prince of the Kingdom of Saloum, blessed with both perfect lineage and overwhelming talent. With his memories intact from his past life, Lloyd now lives freely, wielding unparalleled magical power, pursuing the ultimate mastery of magic that he could never achieve before!

After defeating Guisarme in the Lodest region, Lloyd’s curiosity about magic shows no sign of stopping. His next target: Holy Magic! Lloyd and his companions head to the church to learn this sacred art… but what awaits them there?
