Yu-Gi-Oh! × Nike "Air Max 95" Released Today, September 12, for ¥27,060 ($210) - Fierce Competition Expected

Nike has launched the Air Max 95 QS YGO and an apparel collection in collaboration with Yu-Gi-Oh! Rulers of the Duel today, September 12, marking the 30th anniversary of the iconic Air Max 95 series.

A Legendary Sneaker Comes to Life

The Air Max 95 was famously worn by Joey Wheeler (Katsuya Jonouchi in Japanese) in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Rulers of the Duel anime, originally adapted from manga more than 25 years ago. Once fictional, this footwear is now realized for the first time, complete with a special Nike × Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG card that can actually be used in the trading card game.

The collection includes two colorways: the global “Joey” edition, using layered blue tones to reflect Joey’s sneakers in the series, and the Japan-exclusive “Jonouchi” edition, featuring a gray base to honor the manga-to-anime origins of Yu-Gi-Oh!. Both versions are packaged with an exclusive Nike × Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG card, the first official trading card co-produced by KONAMI and Nike.

Apparel Inspired by Yu-Gi-Oh!’s Legacy

Alongside the sneakers, Nike is releasing apparel highlighting the brand’s long connection with Yu-Gi-Oh!. The Nike x Yu-Gi-Oh! DM Destroyer Jacket House of Duel, inspired by Jonouchi’s Domino High School days, is a varsity-style jacket with six embroidered commemorative patches and customizable options, priced at ¥89,100 ($600). Also included is the Nike x Yu-Gi-Oh! DM Men’s Solo Swoosh T-shirt, featuring Joey’s beloved Red-Eyes Black Dragon on the back, available in black, white, and Japan-exclusive flat pewter, priced at ¥4,620 ($35).

Both the “Jonouchi” colorway and apparel are available from today at select Nike stores in Japan, while the global “Joey” edition launches via SNKRS and selected Nike retailers worldwide. Since its debut in 1995, the Air Max 95 has seen countless collaborations, but this Yu-Gi-Oh! crossover has been anticipated as a collector’s item long before its official announcement, ensuring a fierce scramble among sneaker and anime fans alike.
