■Comment from Hiroyuki Sawano
I am very happy and honored to be able to sing the opening theme of Fate/strange Fake as SawanoHiroyuki[nZk], and to work with both Jean-Ken Johnny and TAKUMA.
I hadn't worked with Jean-Ken Johnny in a while, but his voice was still powerful and cool. He thoughtfully chose the best way to perform the song, showing his strength and sensitivity as both singer and songwriter.
Meanwhile, TAKUMA's emotional approach, in our first time working together, made the track more exciting and energetic. I am grateful for the significance of working with the two of them.
I hope everyone enjoys how this track matches the world of Fate/strange Fake.
■Comment from Jean-Ken Johnny (MAN WITH A MISSION)
I'm honored to be working on Sawano's project again. When I first heard the song, I thought, "The musician has written another very impressive song." His music always inspires me. It inspires me as a performer and as a creator.
This was my first time working with another musician on a song, and it was with TAKUMA. The result is a fresh, gem-like track. Please give it a listen.
■Comment from TAKUMA (10-FEET)
I was deeply moved by the music Sawano had worked on for a film and told Jean-Ken Johnny about it. They knew each other, but I wished I had been introduced to them. Then, out of the blue, I got the unbelievable news that I could work on anime music with both Sawano and Jean-Ken Johnny. That was the opening theme of Fate/strange Fake. This planet really is a place where incredible things happen.
About Fate/strange Fake
Written by Ryohgo Narita, known for Baccano! and Durarara!!, the light novel Fate/strange Fake has been published by Dengeki Bunko since 2015 and depicts a new battle over the Holy Grail.
This is the first time that the Holy Grail War is set in the United States. Many mages (masters) and hero spirits (servants) are called to a deadly battle filled with chaos and confusion.
The anime is produced by A-1 Pictures, which also worked on Fate/Apocrypha in 2017. Shun Enokido and Taketo Sakazume are the ones in charge of the direction. They are both known for their creative work on the Fate/Grand Order animation commercials and light novel promotion videos.
The story starts as the sun is coming up on a "fake" Holy Grail War.
