Dr.STONE Final Season Episode 23 Story and Stills Released: “The Lonely Scientist”

The story and stills of Episode 23 from the final season of Dr.STONE (SCIENCE FUTURE) have been unveiled. Episode 23 is set to premiere on Sep 18 (Thursday) at 10:00 PM JST on Japan’s TOKYO MX, followed by global distribution on various platforms.

With the petrification device’s activation, all of humanity was turned into stone. In the darkness, Senku once again counted the seconds until revival.
Amidst this, Suika, who had been entrusted with the revival fluid, awakened alone. Overwhelmed by solitude and fear, she still managed to secure food, clothing, and shelter while gathering her friends’ stone statues.
Yet, without finding the crucial revival fluid, Suika relied on the notes Senku had left behind, and began walking the path of science all alone, starting from zero!

What is Dr.STONE?

Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon petrified all of humanity in an instant... A science prodigy, Senku Ishigami, awakens in a stone world devoid of civilization. Using his genius intellect, he embarks on an epic adventure to rebuild the world through the power of science.

The TV anime Dr.STONE is based on the manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2017 to 2022, created by Riichiro Inagaki (story) and Boichi (art). The manga received accolades like 2nd place in the Next Manga Award 2018 (Comics Division) and the Shogakukan Manga Award (Shonen Division), surpassing 18 million copies in circulation.

The anime debuted in July 2019, followed by its second season in 2021, a special in 2022, and the third season, Dr.STONE NEW WORLD, in 2023. The upcoming fourth season, titled Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, will air across three split cours starting in 2025. Its announcement in August 2024 created a massive buzz on social media.
