Let's Play Episode 1 Story & Preview Cuts Released with OP Theme by Toshinobu Kubota

The story and preview images for Episode 1 of the TV anime Let's Play (JP: Let's Play クエストだらけのマイライフ) have been revealed. This episode will air on Thursday, October 2 at 12:45 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms. The anime is based on the popular North American webcomic, which has surpassed 900 million total views and boasts over 6.8 million global subscribers.

Episode 1 Story

Sam Young, who lives in Los Angeles, dreams of becoming a game developer. As a child, she spent much of her time bedridden, and video games were her source of comfort. While working at her father’s IT company as CEO, she poured her passion into developing an indie game titled RUMINATE. The game initially received positive reviews, but one day, her favourite gaming streamer, Marshall, harshly criticised it. Overnight, the reputation of her game plummeted. Life has become the hardest game of all, starting from the worst possible checkpoint. How will Sam navigate the unknown rules of her daily life?

Additionally, the non-credit opening sequence featuring Toshinobu Kubota’s new opening theme 1, 2, Play has been released for the first time. The animation was a joint production between Kamikaze Douga, known for the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure opening sequences and Pop Team Epic, and French animation studio Bobbypills, which contributed to Creature Commandos and Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.

“It has been 30 years since I was last asked to perform an anime theme song. For this story about modern young people and their romances originating in America, I found myself enjoying it as though I were part of their generation. Feelings of love transcend both time and age.
