[Japan Travel Information] USJ x Demon Slayer New Attractions and Restaurant Featuring Realistic Haganeduka Hotaru Unveils
Universal Studios Japan has unveiled two new limited-time attractions that allow guests to fully experience the world of the anime "Demon Slayer," as well as a new themed restaurant, "Swordsmith Village Hyottoko Tei." The attractions, "Demon Slayer XR Ride: Dash Through the Swordsmith Village" and "Demon Slayer: Pillar Training Arc × Hollywood Dream - The Ride," along with the restaurant, will officially open tomorrow, on the 19th, and were previewed today, the 18th.
"Demon Slayer XR Ride: Dash Through the Swordsmith Village" transitions the setting from the intense battles of the previous "Demon Slayer XR Ride: Infinity Train" to the "Swordsmith Village," where the now more seasoned protagonist Tanjiro, along with Mist Hashira Tokito and Love Hashira Kanroji, faces off against Upper Rank demons Gyokko and Hantengu in this park-original, completely new ride attraction. Guests who experienced it commented, "It was amazing! The visuals were stunning, and I felt fully immersed in the world of 'Demon Slayer.' Delivering the sword to Tanjiro and fighting alongside everyone made me feel very engaged, and I felt supported by them as well, which was very uplifting" (Osaka Prefecture, mixed group). "I was surprised to see myself dressed as a swordsmith apprentice in the visuals! It was very immersive, and the many demons made it exciting and thrilling. Fighting alongside Tanjiro and the others gave me energy for tomorrow" (Kyoto Prefecture, family).
The other limited-time attraction, the story coaster "Demon Slayer: Pillar Training Arc × Hollywood Dream - The Ride," allows special guest riders to experience the world of the "Pillar Training Arc," featuring Hashira like Sanemi Shinazugawa and Iguro Obanai. Guests shared their excitement: "Riding the coaster with my favorite Hashira was such a delight, and I had been looking forward to today. In this story, I felt like a Demon Slayer Corps member participating in the Pillar Training, and the coaster's movements and gravity made me feel thoroughly trained. I feel much stronger thanks to the Hashira!" "It was fun feeling like I was participating in the Pillar Training, being tossed around by the coaster" (Kyoto Prefecture, female group). "Seeing various characters was touching! Participating in the Pillar Training as a Demon Slayer Corps member made me want to become even stronger. I fought passionately, and seeing Iguro, Shinazugawa, Kanroji, Tokito, and Tanjiro made it feel like I was truly training with them. I want to ride more and continue training to become stronger" (Hyogo Prefecture, Osaka Prefecture, female group).
The themed restaurant "Swordsmith Village Hyottoko Tei" has completely revamped its theme from the previous "Wisteria Flower Dining," offering an immersive space where guests can experience the world of the "Swordsmith Village" through food. Starting tomorrow, guests can enjoy a luxurious new menu inspired by the "Pillars'" bravery while listening to the cheerful conversations of "Tanjiro" and his friends in the swordsmith-themed setting. Additionally, at the shop "Space Fantasy Station" next to the entrance of "Demon Slayer XR Ride: Dash Through the Swordsmith Village," the ultra-realistic swordsmith "Haganeduka Hotaru," who crafts Tanjiro's Nichirin Sword, makes an appearance.
