[Vampire?] JoJo's Creator Hirohiko Araki, 64, Looks Incredibly Youthful Sparking Immortality Theories

On the 29th, manga artist Hirohiko Araki (64), known for the 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure' series, unveiled his first public art piece, 'THE FOUNTAIN BOY,' at the new Inogate Osaka building on the first floor of JR Osaka Station.

Araki's artwork, displayed in Osaka Station, features a visual that connects the historical 'Fountain Boy,' exhibited for 103 years since the second-generation station building, to the future, beautifully rendered in the 'JoJo' style.

Araki, who has reached his 60s, continues to look increasingly youthful, leading fans to speculate about his supposed 'immortality,' 'Ripple user,' and 'vampire' theories in line with his works. Upon his rare public appearance, his youthful looks sparked reactions online: "Araki-sensei looks too young, it's hilarious," "Araki-sensei is already 64?? He definitely doesn't age, his face is way too young," "Araki-sensei is so young it's mind-boggling," and "Araki-sensei is 64 but looks way too young."

Regarding the 'immortality theory' among fans, Araki denied it during the 'Hirohiko Araki Original Art Exhibition: JOJO - Ripples of Adventure' press conference in Tokyo in June 2018. He commented, "When people ask me the secret to my youth, I jokingly say it's because I wash with Tokyo tap water, but I am definitely aging!" He continued, "I make sure to rest properly. I like to have fun. I don't work eight days a week because I want to go places. If I have to think about the secret to my youth, I guess it's DNA," he added with a grin.

Despite being called "young" by those around him, Araki confessed that he sometimes feels his age. "Every day can be tough. My legs and hips are stiff. I have muscle pain every day, even from drawing manga, which I never had when I was younger," he reflected. "When drawing the large two-meter pieces for the recent art exhibition, extending my arms to draw caused muscle pain," he revealed.
