[Live-Action] Live-Action 'Oshi no Ko': Ryo Narita Cast as Goro Amamiya - Character PV Unveiled
It has been revealed that actor Ryo Narita will appear in the live-action adaptation of 'Oshi no Ko.' Narita plays Goro Amamiya (commonly known as Goro), a pivotal character at the start of the story. Goro, influenced by a certain girl, becomes a devoted fan of Ai (played by Asuka Saito), the ace of the idol group B-Komachi, but ends up being her obstetrician when she becomes pregnant.
The newly released character PV showcases various scenes: Goro cherishing Ai's merchandise, playfully goofing around, being shocked when Ai, now pregnant, appears as a patient, resolving to be her doctor, getting caught up in an extraordinary situation, and finally, closing with a narration filled with Goro's intense desire for revenge following Ai's demise.
Narita, who has appeared in numerous films and TV dramas and won various movie awards, notably performed as the heroine's husband in the NHK morning drama series 'Ochoyan' (2021). He currently stars as a detective investigating the kidnapping and abandonment of child victims in the ongoing drama 'Falling Snow, Lonely Death' (Yomiuri TV).
In this film, Narita uses his polished acting skills to portray Goro's complex emotions, ranging from love for Ai to determination and vengeance.
'Oshi no Ko,' serialized in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha) since 2020 by the collaborative team of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, features a fantastical premise where the protagonist is reincarnated as the child of a legendary idol, Ai. The series has garnered attention for its shocking elements and daring exploration of the intricate world of the entertainment industry. The story's originality and suspense have captivated a broad audience, and the second season of the anime is currently airing.
In the live-action adaptation, Kaito Sakurai plays Aqua, who infiltrates the entertainment industry to uncover the truth behind his mother's death; Asuka Saito plays the legendary idol Ai; Nagisa Saito plays Ruby, Aqua's twin sister who dreams of becoming an idol like her late mother; Nanoka Hara plays Kana Arima, a former child actress who starts idol activities with Ruby; Mizuki Kayashima plays Akane Kurokawa, an actress with feelings for Aqua; and Ano plays MEMcho, a popular YouTuber who joins Ruby and Kana in their idol activities.
