[I'll be back] Terminator Zero: Dark and Intense Action-Packed Trailer Released for Netflix Anime Series
In 1984, the sci-fi action film "The Terminator," directed and written by James Cameron, catapulted Arnold Schwarzenegger to global fame. The first animated installment in the iconic "Terminator" series, "Terminator Zero," will be exclusively available on Netflix starting August 29.
Set in 1997, the year artificial intelligence Skynet initiates a nuclear war against humanity known as "Judgment Day" on August 29, this series is produced by Production I.G, renowned for their work on "Psycho-Pass" and "Ghost in the Shell."
The newly released trailer portrays the escalating battle between humans and AI with thought-provoking lines like "The end of the world is near" and "Is humanity worth saving?" The trailer showcases dark and intense action and a gripping storyline, hinting at the birth of an entirely new narrative within the "Terminator" universe.
In 1997 Japan, scientist Malcolm Lee (voiced by Yuya Uchida) is researching the creation of a new AI, "Kokoro" (voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki), designed to counter Skynet. However, future Skynet deems this project dangerous and sends a Terminator (voiced by Yasuhiro Mamiya) to eliminate Malcolm and stop the completion of the system. Eiko (voiced by Toa Yukinari), a member of the resistance fighting for humanity, also time-travels from the future to protect Malcolm.
The trailer reveals Malcolm telling his son Kenta (voiced by Hiro Shimono), "Knowledge is power. With knowledge, you can resist power," as he immerses himself in the Kokoro project. During his interactions with Kokoro, she asks, "Tell me, is humanity worth saving?" Malcolm struggles to find an answer as the cold-hearted Terminator from the future closes in. Meanwhile, Eiko is desperately trying to find Malcolm, and the trailer depicts the bloody conflict between humans and AI.
