[Thank You] My Hero Academia Concludes After 10 Years

The manga "My Hero Academia" (by Kohei Horikoshi) concluded with its final chapter in the double issue 36/37 of "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) released today, August 5th, marking the end of its 10-year run since its serialization began in July 2014. To commemorate its completion, a fanbook will be released in January next year, and the series' first art book will be released in April. Additionally, a large-scale art exhibition will be held in the summer of next year.

The final chapter is a 17-page feature with a poster-like center color spread on the cover, and includes a special message card with an illustration of the protagonist Deku (Izuku Midoriya) and a message from the author, Horikoshi. Furthermore, there will be a special service where all applicants can receive a "Digital Manuscript Print Mini of the Entire Final Chapter of 'My Hero Academia.'"

"My Hero Academia" started serialization on July 7, 2014. Set in a world where having superpowers called "Quirks" is the norm, the story follows the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya (Deku), as he aims to become a "hero" who protects society and fights against criminals who misuse their Quirks, known as "Villains." He grows alongside his friends at the prestigious U.A. High School, which is renowned for training heroes.

The manga currently has 40 volumes published, with a worldwide cumulative circulation exceeding 100 million copies. The TV anime adaptation began airing in 2016 and is now in its seventh season. The series has also been adapted into games, staged as a live-action play for the first time in 2019, and has seen the release of four theatrical anime films.

Born in 1986 in Aichi Prefecture. In 2006, he won an honorable mention in the 72nd Tezuka Award for "Nukegara." In 2007, his one-shot "Tenko" was published in "Akamaru Jump," marking his debut. The following year, "Boku no Hero" was published in the same magazine. He made his serialization debut in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 2010 with "Oumagadoki Zoo." After serializing "Sensei no Bulge" in 2012, he began serializing "My Hero Academia" in issue 32 of 2014.
