[Manga] "HUNTER×HUNTER" to Release New Chapter in October – First New Chapter in 1 Year and 9 Months, Volume 38 to Be Released in September
Shueisha announced on the 19th that the popular manga "HUNTER×HUNTER" (by Yoshihiro Togashi) will publish a new chapter in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #45, set to release on October 7. This will be the first new chapter in approximately 1 year and 9 months, since the last release in the December 26, 2022, issue.
HUNTER×HUNTER concluded its weekly serialization with chapter 400 in the December 26, 2022, issue. Regarding the reason, the editorial department explained, "After consulting with Togashi-sensei, considering his health condition, we have decided that future chapters will be delivered in a format other than weekly serialization."
They added, "Togashi-sensei continues to write the story, and the editorial department will continue to support him until the completion of HUNTER×HUNTER. Further details regarding publication timing and format will be announced in future issues of Weekly Shonen Jump. We thank you for your continued support of HUNTER×HUNTER."
HUNTER×HUNTER, which began serialization in 1998, is an adventure fantasy where the protagonist Gon embarks on a journey with his friend Killua and others. The current story arc, the "Dark Continent Expedition Arc" (Succession War Arc), features Kurapika, the Phantom Troupe, and other characters aboard a ship bound for an unexplored continent, where their conflicting ambitions collide. The series has surpassed 84 million copies in circulation (including digital versions). On September 4, the latest volume, Volume 38, will be released, featuring a cover with Gon.
