The "Japan Toy of the Year 2024 Awards Ceremony," aimed at revitalizing the entire toy industry and fostering creative competition among manufacturers, was held in Tokyo on the 27th. The "DX Transformation Belt Gavv" won the grand prize in the Character Category.

This product allows children to enjoy role-playing with the transformation belt from the TV Asahi series Kamen Rider Gavv (starting September 1, airing every Sunday at 9:00 AM), where the theme is "eating candy," a favorite among kids.

The belt features a monster called "Gochizo," inspired by familiar snacks like gummies, potato chips, and chocolate. When the handle is turned, the upper jaw moves up and down, triggering the "Gavv Gavv Action," making it look as if the belt is "eating" the candy. The belt incorporates an intuitive gimmick that encourages repeated actions of "turning, pressing, and opening."

This year marks the 16th annual "Japan Toy of the Year Awards," which features nine categories (Educational, Kidult, Basic, Variety, Action, Digital, Character, Games & Puzzles, and Co-Play Toys). Out of 427 entries from 46 companies, the top prize for each category was awarded.
