Oshi no Ko Stage Play Announced for December – Rio Komiya Cast as Aqua in the “2.5D Stage Play Arc (Tokyo Brade Arc)”
The manga Oshi no Ko is set to be adapted into a stage play, with performances scheduled for December. Titled Theatrical Oshi no Ko: 2.5D Stage Play Arc, the Tokyo performances will be held at Theater H from December 13 to 22, while the Osaka performances will take place at Umeda Arts Theater Drama City from December 26 to 29. The cast and staff details have been revealed, with Rio Komiya taking on the role of Aqua.
The stage play will focus on the "2.5D Stage Play Arc," the fifth chapter of the original manga, portraying the drama behind the production of a stage play adaptation. It will feature original elements unique to the stage, including the in-play performance of Tokyo Blade.
The cast includes Rio Komiya as Aqua, Shintaro Anzai as Taiki Himekawa, Momoka Satake as Kana Arima, Mirai Uchida as Akane Kurokawa, Naotake Tsuchiya as Melt Narushima, Ryo Kitamura as Sakuya Kamoshida, Marina Tanoue as Abiko Samejima, Mahiro Hiratai as Yoriko Kichijoji, Kosuke Kujirai as Sumiaki Raida, and Ryoma Baba as GOA.
Other cast members include Jun Ishida as Norio Mita, Keiichi Sugiyama as Yuki Satomi, Naoto Tada as Ryoma Funato, Shuhei Miura as Kiiro Hayashibara, Sachi Nagata as Koyuki Yoshitomi, Arisa Koga as Mei Adashino, Seiya Shirasaki as Sota , and Shogo Samukawa as Tanji Yamanaka.
Oshi no Ko is a manga series that began serialization in April 2020 in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha). It follows the story of Goro, an obstetrician who reincarnates as the child of his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, after a tragic incident. This event leads him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
The anime adaptation aired from April to June 2023, with a second season currently airing. Additionally, a live-action drama series is set to stream on November 28, and a live-action movie continuation of the drama will be released in theaters on December 20.
