[Baki Stage] Stage Play 'Baki' Reveals Visual of Yujiro Hanma – Played by Former Sumo Wrestler Hiro Ryogoku
The key visual for the stage play Baki THE GRAPPLER STAGE – Underground Arena Arc (set to be performed at Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo from December 4 to 8) has been released. The visual features 13 cast members, including Yugo Sato as the protagonist Baki Hanma and former sumo wrestler Hiro Ryogoku as Yujiro Hanma, finally revealing Yujiro’s appearance.
"Baki the Grappler," serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from 1991 to 1999, is a martial arts manga about the young champion Baki Hanma who reigns in the underground arena and his battles with rivals vying for the title of the strongest on Earth. The series continues with sequels such as "Baki," "Hanma Baki," "Baki Dou," and "Baki Dou" and is currently serialized as "Baki Rahen," with the manga series exceeding 100 million copies in total circulation.
This time, the supposedly impossible-to-adapt Baki the Grappler has been brought to the stage, with a focus on acrobatics and authentic action choreography to fully recreate the world of Baki the Grappler. The newly released key visual also features Momoka Onishi as Kozue Matsumoto, Sho Hinata as Katsumi Orochi, Haruto Sakuraba as Kaoru Hanayama, Riku Noma as Retsu Kaioh, Rita Aizawa as Kiyosumi Kato, Masashi Yokoyama as Atsushi Suedo, Zenichi Hashimoto as Stridum, Kotaro as Izou Motobe, Akira Tanaka as Mitsunari Tokugawa, Takayuki Kohiruimaki as Hideaki Kano, and Kozo Takeda as Doppo Orochi.
The character visuals for the cast, except for Yujiro Hanma, were previously released, but now Yujiro’s visual has finally been unveiled. The character, known as "the strongest creature on Earth," is prominently depicted in the background of the key visual.
