Though he initially ended up receiving a shot from Kiryuu Zantetsu, who had been mocking him, Nagi sat down without continuing to play, remaining the "oni" (tagger). However, this was because he believed Reo would take action. In the last five seconds before Reo was about to be eliminated, Nagi stole the ball and volleyed a shot towards Zantetsu. Zantetsu dodged the ball, which hit Nameoka in the stomach, causing him to be knocked out of the game. With this, Nagi successfully passed the entrance exam.

In the first match, Nagi faced Team Y, which included Niki Ikki and Okawa Hibiki. At first, watching Reo and Zantetsu aggressively attack, Nagi felt he didn’t need to do anything and took on the role of goalkeeper to slack off.
