On October 23, Bandai Namco Holdings unveiled the life-size Gundam statue at the Osaka-Kansai Expo site on Yumeshima Island. During the ceremonial "Head Installation" event, the head of the massive Gundam was attached, drawing applause from the gathered crowd.

The GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION will explore futuristic possibilities, portraying life in space and scientific advancements yet to be realized, while envisioning a future where mobile suits coexist with humanity. Visitors will experience fully immersive new visuals and an interactive journey through seven phases.

The life-size statue, named "RX-78F00/E Gundam," kneels on one knee with its right arm raised toward space. It stands at a total height of 16.72 meters (including its outstretched hand) and 12.31 meters to the top of the head, weighing 49.1 tons. The statue repurposes parts of the exhibit from "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA," though it is non-operational.

The "Head Installation" ceremony, modeled after traditional building ceremonies, was held to pray for safety as the Gundam's head was lifted by crane and successfully attached.

Bandai Spirits president and Bandai Namco Group’s Chief Gundam Officer Hiroshi Sakakibara highlighted the significance of the Gundam's pose. "The gesture of reaching toward the sky symbolizes humanity’s aspiration to pioneer a new space age," he explained. He also expressed hopes that the statue will inspire people to think about the future of space and technology.
