The new OVA episode 13 of the anime My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon), titled “The Shape of My Happiness,” will be globally released on November 22, 2024—marking Japan’s “Good Couple’s Day”—via Netflix and other streaming platforms. Along with this announcement, preview images and a brief synopsis have been unveiled.

To celebrate "Good Couple’s Day," various events are planned, including a special illustration reveal, collaborations with temples and shrines, and a social media giveaway campaign. A countdown project revisiting the first season will also kick off, featuring a recap video, character quizzes, a board game, and more, providing fans with fun ways to reminisce about the first season.

In addition, to commemorate the second season’s premiere in January 2025, a collaboration with the Sunshine 60 Observatory's Tenbou Park has been confirmed, with ticket sales for an exclusive entry package starting today.

Set in a fictional world reminiscent of the Meiji and Taisho eras, My Happy Marriage follows the unlikely romance between Kiyoka Kudou, an emotionally closed-off elite military officer, and Miyo Saimori, a girl raised in an abusive household. The anime’s second season will dive deeper into the mystery of the "Thin Blade Blood" running through Miyo, putting their love to the test.

The anime is based on the light novel series My Happy Marriage by Akumi Agitogi, with illustrations by Tsukiho Tsukioka, and has sold over 8 million copies. Since its debut in 2019, the series has expanded into a manga adaptation, ranked first in the "Recommended Comics by Bookstore Employees 2021" and received numerous accolades, including the "E-book Manga Grand Prize." In 2023, the story was adapted into a live-action film starring Ren Meguro (Snow Man) and Mio Imada, followed by a stage play in August and the anime adaptation, which began airing in July.

Episode 13 Synopsis

The long-awaited party that was the focus of Miyo's lady training has finally arrived. Attendees are eager to see just what kind of woman has won the heart of the notoriously cold and ruthless Kiyoka Kudou. Dressed in a beautiful gown, Miyo fulfills her duties with grace and composure, much to the satisfaction of Hazuki. Kiyoka then turns to Miyo and says, "There’s someone I want you to meet…"
