Japanese Animation Studios Create Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 Set for 2025 Release on Disney+
The third volume of Star Wars: Visions, the acclaimed animated anthology series reimagining the Star Wars universe through the unique perspectives of animation studios, is officially set to debut in 2025. The announcement was made during the Walt Disney Company’s “Disney Content Showcase APAC 2024” in Singapore on November 20.
All-Japanese Animation Studios for Volume 3
Volume 3 will feature a full lineup of nine shorts produced exclusively by renowned Japanese animation studios. This marks a return to the roots of the series, as the first volume also highlighted Japanese creators. The participating studios include:
David Production: Known for hit anime such as Undead Unluck and Urusei Yatsura.
Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA: A collaboration between the creators of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure openings and Batman Ninja (Kamikaze Douga) and the team behind Kotetsujo Iron Fortress (ANIMA).
Kinema Citrus: Recognized for works like Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez and The Rising of the Shield Hero.
Polygon Pictures: Involved in Ajin, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and other globally acclaimed series.
Production I.G: Renowned for Ghost in the Shell, Psycho-Pass, and Haikyuu!!.
Project Studio Q: Headed by Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno.
TRIGGER: A fan-favorite studio behind Ninja Slayer and the upcoming Delicious in Dungeon.
WIT STUDIO: Known for Ranking of Kings and SPY×FAMILY Code: White.
Free Streaming of Volume 1 in Japan
In addition to the new volume, fans in Japan can revisit Star Wars: Visions Volume 1, as all episodes are being released for free on YouTube in Japan, starting sequentially.
