On December 23, Toho announced during its 2025 lineup presentation that its annual box office revenue for 2024 (December 2023 to November 2024) is projected to reach an unprecedented $6.37–$6.44 billion. This milestone surpasses Toho’s previous record of $5.98 billion in 2016, the year Your Name and Godzilla Minus One became massive hits.
