'You and Idol PreCure♪' Trailer Unveils Glittery Transformations
The 22nd installment of the PreCure anime series (ABC TV/TV Asahi, airing Sundays at 8:30 AM JST) is titled 'You and Idol PreCure♪' and is set to premiere on February 2. A teaser video was released, revealing Cure Idol's voice and her dazzling transformation sequence.
The new series centers on an idol theme with the message, "Because of 'You,' we shine brighter and grow stronger!" It follows the story of PreCure idols singing, dancing, and interacting with fans while saving people whose sparkle has been stolen.
The story begins with Uta Sakura, a second-year middle school student who loves to sing, meeting the fairy Purirun, who is searching for the legendary savior, Idol PreCure. Purirun’s homeland, Kirakiland, has been plunged into darkness by the villainous Dark-ine, leader of the Chokkiri Gang. When the gang threatens her town and steals its sparkle, Uta vows, "I want to make everything shine bright with my song!" Her determination unlocks her transformation into the legendary savior, Cure Idol.
The cast and character information have also been revealed.
Cure Idol / Uta Sakura is voiced by Misato Matsuoka. Her fanservice involves her "idol smile" with her introduction line, "Singing with you, a glittering heart! Smiling brightly, I’m Cure Idol!"
Cure Wink / Nana Aokaze, a second-year middle school student skilled at playing the piano, is voiced by Minami Takahashi. Her fanservice includes a "wink" with her introduction line, "Sparkling with you, a courageous heart! Blinking bright, I’m Cure Wink!"
Cure Kyun-Kyun / Kokoro Shigure, a first-year middle school student and talented dancer, is voiced by Natsumi Takamori. Her fanservice features her "kyun-kyun pose" with her introduction line, "Dancing with you, a rhythmic heart! Heart pounding, I’m Cure Kyun-Kyun!"
The opening theme, titled 'Wonderful PreCure!', is performed by Chisato Yoshitake, known for singing many previous PreCure themes, and Ami Ishii, who sang for Hirogaru Sky! PreCure. This marks the debut of Akane Kumada, a renowned anime song artist, contributing to PreCure music for the first time. The ending theme is performed by the trio of idol PreCures: Cure Idol, Cure Wink, and Cure Kyun-Kyun.
