"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" Exhibition Unveiled: Featuring the 'Just Date Already!' Section for Fern & Stark
The thematic exhibition "Anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Exhibition – A Story That Begins After the Adventure Ends" will be held from April 25 to May 12 at the Exhibition Hall C in Sunshine City, Ikebukuro. A media preview was conducted today, April 24, revealing the interior of the exhibition, including the 'Just Start Dating Already!' section for Fern & Stark.
The exhibition showcases numerous iconic scenes from the currently airing anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" with large displays, dynamic video presentations, and photo spots with popular characters, offering fans a comprehensive experience of the anime's world. Visitors can relive the various journeys of Frieren and her companions, including farewells with the hero's party, new companions' journeys, confrontations with demonic enemies, and the challenges of the First-Class Sorcerer Exam.
The area begins with the hero Himmel's triumphant return to the royal capital after defeating the Demon King, reflecting on the past decade of adventures and looking forward to future lives. The elf Frieren, undistracted by sentimentality, sets off again in pursuit of magic. Fifty years later, Frieren returns to the capital to fulfill a promise to her friends, sparking a new journey. The exhibition starts with a retrospective of Himmel and his companions' travels under a sky filled with half-century (Era) meteors.
In the first chapter, after Himmel's death, Frieren decides to learn more about humans and embarks on another journey. This section revisits her encounters with Himmel's cleric companion, Heiter, her apprentice Fern, and Stark, a warrior and disciple of her former companion Eisen, surrounded by the hometown flower of Himmel, the pale moon grass, next to a statue of Himmel.
The second chapter features Frieren's party confronting deceptive and predatory demons, including the Demon King's direct subordinate, "Guillotine Aura." This section uses video presentations to recall battles, shedding light on why Frieren is called "Frieren of the Funeral."
The third chapter revisits the encounters with diverse characters who join the journey, including the cleric Zain, monk Craft, and the dwarven warrior Old Fol. There are also color objects and photo spots capturing beautiful memories of Frieren and Himmel.
The fourth chapter revisits the episode of the First-Class Sorcerer Exam that Frieren and Fern faced in the magic city of äußerst, progressing through the "King's Tomb of Decline" stage of the second test, aiming for the deepest part.
Additionally, the exhibition includes corners where visitors can view dramatic battle scenes through impressive video presentations and photo spots where they can hold weapons used by Frieren and her companions. The exhibition offers an immersive display of the narrative woven by the characters.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" since April 2020, is a post-adventure fantasy that explores the aftermath of a hero's party defeating the Demon King. The story follows the elf sorceress Frieren as she embarks on new adventures with new companions in a world without the hero.
