The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise will begin airing in July 2025 on Nippon TV. Alongside the announcement, a new key visual, PV, and additional cast members have been revealed, further exciting fans of the series.

A Modern Take on the Legend of Momotaro

Originally serialized in 2020 in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten), the manga by Yura Urushibara reimagines Japan’s classic Momotaro folklore as a dark fantasy. It depicts the eternal conflict between those with the blood of demons and those with the blood of Momotaro. With over 3 million copies sold, the series has captivated fans with its unique narrative and gripping battles.

New Key Visual and PV

The first key visual features Shiki Ichinose, Jin Kogasaki, and Mujin Mudano unleashing their demonic abilities, known as Blood Release (Kesshoku Kaihou). The striking contrast of their blood-red powers against a teal night sky and full moon exudes a powerful dark-hero aesthetic.

The PV focuses on members of Rasetsu Academy, showcasing the voices of newly announced cast members, giving fans a glimpse of their personalities.

Story

"You inherit the blood of demons…"

For centuries, the "bloodlines of demons and Momotaro" have been passed down through select humans. In ancient times, demons lived in seclusion, aware of their own savagery. However, their peace was shattered when Momotaro invaded.

This led to the formation of two factions: the Momotaro Organization and the Demon Organization, whose battles have spanned millennia. After a sudden attack by Momotaro, Shiki Ichinose discovers he is a demon. His awakening to his own demonic nature sets him on a fateful journey.

The stage is set for a new generation of dark-hero demon tales!
