The "Suicide scene" of Aura from the manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" has been released on the official X.
In episode 10 of the TV anime, titled "The Strong Sorcerer," the climax of the "Aura on the Guillotine Arc" unfolds, depicting the battle between Frieren's group and the demon tribe, led by Aura, and concluding the fight between Frieren and Aura.
Frieren's overwhelming power sparked discussions online, with comments such as "It's no exaggeration to call this a divine episode... Thank you," "Frieren's magical power was beyond imagination, and I couldn't help but laugh," "It's complicated to see Lord Aura commit seppuku, so I'll pray," "Instead of being subdued and finished off by Frieren, Aura choosing to commit seppuku showcased an overwhelming sense of strength which was amazing!" and "It sent shivers down my spine."
The scene released is from the original manga, showing Aura in the moment before committing seppuku, with the words "...impossible..."
The series, serialized in "Weekly Shōnen Sunday" since April 2020, is based on the manga of the same name. It is a "post-heroic fantasy" that depicts the aftermath of a group of heroes defeating the Demon King. The story follows the elf magician Frieren as she embarks on new adventures with new companions in a world without the hero.
With its innovative timeline set after the defeat of the Demon King, the series has captivated many readers with its compelling drama, memorable lines, magical and sword fights, and humorous moments. It has become a popular work, winning the grand prize at the "Manga Taisho 2021" and surpassing a total of 17 million copies in circulation.
