Who Would’ve Won the Chunin Exams in NARUTO? Fans Debate as Official Post Sparks Heated Theories

The official NARUTO X (formerly Twitter) account recently stirred up a wave of excitement by asking fans:
“If the Chunin Exams had played out to the end, who do you think would’ve won?”

The question refers to the original Chunin Exams finals, which were cut short due to the invasion of Konoha. Participating fighters included:
Naruto, Neji, Gaara, Sasuke, Kankuro, Shino, Temari, Dosu, and Shikamaru.

Fandom Theories Take Over Social Media

The post quickly went viral, sparking passionate discussions among fans, with theories like:

“At that point in time, I think Sasuke had the edge.”
“If Naruto had mastered the Rasengan and fully synced with Kurama, he could’ve taken it.”
“Naruto would’ve beaten Gaara, but would’ve been too exhausted to continue—Shino or Temari would’ve taken the win.”
“Shino seems like the most logical winner, especially considering how worn out everyone else would’ve been on that side of the bracket.”
The community weighed in not just on power levels, but also on matchups and stamina throughout the tournament tree, giving rise to countless possible outcomes.

About NARUTO: A Global Phenomenon

NARUTO, created by Masashi Kishimoto, began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999 and quickly gained explosive popularity. The anime adaptation began in 2002, and the manga concluded in 2014 after 700 chapters. Even after its conclusion, NARUTO remains one of the most celebrated manga franchises globally, with over 250 million copies sold worldwide.

In 2006, protagonist Naruto Uzumaki was the only fictional character named in Newsweek Japan’s “100 Most Respected Japanese People in the World”.

Currently, the sequel series BORUTO -TWO BLUE VORTEX- (written and supervised by Kishimoto, drawn by Mikio Ikemoto) is ongoing in V Jump magazine.
