Predator: Killer of Killers — Exclusive Disney+ Release on June 6 Marks Franchise’s First Animated Film
Walt Disney Japan has announced that Predator: Killer of Killers, the first animated installment of the legendary Predator franchise, will stream exclusively on Disney+ Star starting Friday, June 6.
Since the original 1987 film, the Predator series has spanned seven entries, including crossovers, and has become a global cult phenomenon. Known for its high-tech alien hunter and humanity’s desperate struggle for survival, the franchise now evolves into animation for the first time.

Three Warriors. One Predator. No Escape.
Set across different eras and nations, the film explores previously untold Predator hunts throughout history. The warriors facing off against the galaxy’s deadliest hunter include:
A vengeful Viking on a blood-soaked journey with his son,
A stealthy ninja caught in a brutal succession conflict in feudal Japan,
A WWII fighter pilot sent to investigate an unknown threat in the skies.
Even these fiercest of human warriors may prove nothing more than prey before the Predator.
A Visual Tease of Carnage
The newly released key visual features a Viking shield, a pilot’s dog tags, and a katana—each soaked in red human blood and green Predator blood, symbolizing the brutal confrontations to come.
The trailer opens with breathless moments before each warrior meets the Predator. In one scene, a samurai is sliced in half. Another shows a Viking elder declaring, “It’s time we speak… of the monster.” With that, the Predator reveals itself, launching into vicious land, sea, and aerial battles.
“Kill or be killed”—a ruthless showdown between humanity’s fiercest and the galaxy’s apex predator begins.
Acclaimed Director Returns
The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who earned 94% FRESH on Rotten Tomatoes (as of April 10, 2025) for Prey, and received Emmy nominations for both directing and writing. Trachtenberg now brings his vision to the first-ever Predator animation.
Producers include franchise veterans John Davis, Marc Toberoff, and Lawrence Gordon (executive producer), promising a high-stakes entry worthy of the Predator legacy.
