My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Special Chapter 15.5 Returns – New Visuals Revealed for Koichi, Pop☆Step, Knuckleduster & Aizawa
A special standalone chapter titled “Chapter 15.5” from the official My Hero Academia spin-off manga Vigilantes – My Hero Academia: ILLEGALS has been re-released on April 15 via the Shonen Jump+ manga app “MANGA Plus".

Though the series concluded with 15 volumes, this commemorative chapter was brought back to celebrate the anime adaptation. The story, written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, is set between Chapters 15 and 16 of the original series. In the new episode, vigilantes Koichi, Pop☆Step, and Knuckleduster respond to a plea from a young girl and work together to solve a mysterious case. Could their investigation be connected to the illegal drug “Trigger”? This revival chapter is timed to enhance the experience of the currently airing anime.

Following the broadcast of Episode 2 on April 14, brand-new action visuals featuring main characters Koichi Haimawari (The Crawler), Pop☆Step (Kazuho Haneyama), Knuckleduster (Iwao Oguro), and Shota Aizawa (Eraser Head) were released. The vibrant designs highlight each character’s name and reflect the intense energy and heroic themes that define Vigilantes.

Vigilantes originally ran from 2017 to 2022 on the Shonen Jump+ app, created by writer Hideyuki Furuhashi and artist Betten Court, and is officially connected to the My Hero Academia canon. Set in Japan several years prior to the events of the main series, Vigilantes portrays a world where underground heroes act without recognition, driven by a need to help others no matter the cost.

My Hero Academia takes place in a world where superhuman abilities known as "Quirks" are commonplace. The story follows Izuku Midoriya (Deku), a boy without a Quirk, as he strives to become a professional hero and protect society from villains. The manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and will conclude on August 5, 2024. With over 100 million copies in circulation, the series has inspired multiple anime seasons since 2016 and several movies. Season 7 will conclude in October 2024, and production of Season 8 is already underway.
