The upcoming TV anime Ninja vs Gokudo (JP: 忍者と極道, Ninja to Gokudo), based on the manga by Shinsuke Kondo, is set to air on Nippon TV starting in October 2025. Nikkatsu released the key visual and the first promotional video (PV) alongside this announcement.

The anime features Chiaki Kobayashi as Shinoha Tanaka, Katsuyuki Konishi as Kiwami Kimura, and Sumire Uesaka as Gamute. The main cast members have also shared their thoughts on joining the series.

About Ninja vs Gokudo

Originally serialized on Kodansha’s web comic platform Comic DAYS since January 20, 2020, Ninja vs Gokudo tells the intense story of a young ninja who lost his ability to smile due to trauma, and an elite businessman secretly leading a yakuza syndicate. The series dives deep into their conflicting paths and the epic showdown between ninjas and yakuza.

Character Profiles

■Shinoha Tanaka (Voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi)

A member of the ninja group “Teito Hachi-Nin (JP: 帝都八忍).” After losing his family to the yakuza during childhood, he stopped smiling and vowed to eradicate the criminal underworld to prevent others from experiencing the same fate. Although he lacks any supernatural powers, he has mastered the ninja art “Anjin.” He is also an avid fan of the Princess Series.

■Kiwami Kimura (Voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi)

The shadow boss of the Takemoto Group and leader of the “Destructive Eight Gokudo (JP: 破壊の八極道, Hakai no Hachi-Gokudo).” By day, he serves as a product planning manager at a major toy company. Outwardly friendly, he lost his emotions due to a past incident and now seeks to create a haven for lonely yakuza by plotting the annihilation of all ninjas. Like Shinoha, he is a passionate fan of the Princess Series.

■Gamute (Voiced by Sumire Uesaka)

One of the “Destructive Eight Gokudo,” she leads the assassin group known as the “Broken Children” and carries the title “Prince of Killers.” Though high-strung and self-centered, her erratic behavior conceals a cold and calculated killer who uses the deadly “Yakuza Technique: Yamaidare” to eliminate her targets with precision.
