Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi! Gets Anime Adaptation – “Thank You for Waiting!” Illustration Revealed

The manga Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi! (Japanese title: 一畳間まんきつ暮らし！) by Kumako Hisama is officially getting a TV anime adaptation. Along with the announcement, a special celebratory illustration has been unveiled.

Currently serialized in Manga Time Kirara, the story follows Meiko Morita, a girl from the countryside who moves to Tokyo to transfer into an elite girls’ school. However, her tuition is waived under one condition: she must perform community service, which leads her to live and work at a manga café that doubles as a girls’ dormitory.

The manga café “Hedgehog” is managed by Rie Amamiya, who also serves as the dorm mother. Meiko’s new life introduces her to a cast of unique and charming girls, including the wildly popular streamer Marika Suzuki and the deceptively cute hardcore gamer Neo Nakano. The series unfolds as a mildly risqué, heartwarming comedy about JK (high school girl) employees navigating life in a manga café.
