New “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” Movie Premieres February 27, 2026 – Original Story Supervised by Fuse

The new film in the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series, titled "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Azure Sea", is set for theatrical release on February 27, 2026. The story is based on an original concept by Fuse, the author of the light novel series, who also serves as the film’s full supervisor. A teaser trailer has been released alongside the announcement.

The setting is a dazzling paradise of wide open skies and shimmering seas. Following the conclusion of the Founding Festival in the monster nation of Tempest, Rimuru and his companions are invited by Emperor Elmesia of the Sorcery Dynasty of Sarion, a major elven nation, to her privately owned resort island.

With breathtaking scenery, delicious cuisine, and a shopping paradise, the group sets out to enjoy a brief vacation—until a mysterious woman named Yura appears, and a sinister dark shadow begins to creep into the scene. The trailer features a narration hinting at new dangers: “Something big is about to happen again,” as Rimuru confronts an unknown threat with resolve.

The first teaser visual, released at the same time, shows Rimuru and Gobta heading into swirling waves, alongside the mysterious Yura and Emperor Elmesia of the Sorcery Dynasty. The tagline reads: “When the time comes to awaken, an azure prayer binds hearts together.” What exactly will awaken, and whose feelings will be joined across the endless sea?

This new installment presents an original story unfolding in a never-before-seen region of the Slime universe.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime follows the tale of Satoru Mikami, a salaryman who is killed in a random stabbing incident and reincarnated as a slime named Rimuru in a fantasy world. He sets out to build a nation where all races can live happily together, using the skills he acquires and his wisdom and courage to gain allies.
