The Summer Hikaru Died Episode 3 Story and Preview Images Released: Yoshiki Remembers Hikaru as He Watches HIKARU

The story and preview images for Episode 3 of the TV anime The Summer Hikaru Died (JP: 光が死んだ夏, Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu) have been released. The episode will air in Japan on Sunday, July 20 at 0:55 AM (JST), and will be available on streaming platforms worldwide shortly thereafter.

Yoshiki recalls “Hikaru” as he watches the look-alike innocently devouring a slice of watermelon. Even though “Hikaru” is no longer here, can he really be the only one allowed to enjoy “everyday life” as if nothing happened…? Unaware of Yoshiki’s inner turmoil, the other Hikaru cheerfully says, “Just being with you makes me happy.” Unable to bear it any longer, Yoshiki reaches out to Rie Kurebayashi, a housewife he previously met at the supermarket.
