Voice Actor Change for Aiko Zahn in Urdr-Hunt Edit

The special compilation version of the spin-off to the anime Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, which first aired in October 2015 and is now celebrating its 10th anniversary, titled Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt -The Path of a Small Challenger-, is set to be released in theaters starting Friday, October 31. Alongside this announcement, it was revealed that the role of Aiko Zan will be recast, with Masashi Yamane replacing Itaru Yamamto as the voice actor.

The film is a special compilation that re-edits all 12 episodes originally distributed through the smartphone app Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G, with the addition of new scenes. It will bring together the main staff from Urdr-Hunt, including director Tatsuyuki Nagai, as well as the main cast, such as Rina Ikoma, who voices the protagonist.

Additionally, a change in part of the cast has been announced. On the official website, under the notice titled “Regarding the Change of Voice Actor for Aiko Zahn,” it was stated:
“Starting with the special compilation Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt – The Path of a Small Challenger, Masashi Yamane will take over the role previously voiced by Itaru Yamamto. We appreciate your continued support for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt.”

In September 2024, Yamamoto's then-agency announced the termination of his management contract. The official statement on their website read:
“Due to a serious breach of contract by our talent Kakuto Yamamoto, we have terminated our management contract with him as of September 14, 2024.”
It also added, “We would like to inform you that he has also retired from all future entertainment activities.”
