Rudo’s Past

Who Are Rudo’s Parents?
The truth about Rudo’s parents is wrapped in mystery. What we do know is that he was abandoned as a baby in the slums and taken in by Regto. Unfortunately, the shadow of his bloodline followed him. Everyone in the slums knew his father was a murderer, a man said to have committed a grave crime and been cast into the Pit. That knowledge hung over Rudo’s childhood like a dark cloud.
How He Ended Up in the Pit
Life was never kind to Rudo. As a boy, he endured the cruelty of others who saw only the son of a killer. His badly scarred hands didn’t help—people recoiled from them. Yet Regto’s kindness kept him going, and the gloves Regto gave him not only eased his pain but became a symbol of their bond. Rudo grew up wanting to repay that kindness in any way he could.
But the peace didn’t last. Regto was murdered, and Rudo was framed. Just like his father, he was condemned to the Pit.
Rudo’s Abilities and Fighting Style

Rudo from Anime Gachiakuta EP3
At first, Zanka assumed Rudo’s power was simply turning what he touched into a Vital Instrument. But during his battle with Jabber Wonger, the truth came out—he can draw out the “value” of an object to its absolute limit. This only works on discarded items, unleashing their hidden potential until, once spent, they fade away quietly, like they’ve fulfilled their purpose.
Rudo’s Relationships

Regto & Rudo
■Regto
To Rudo, Regto wasn’t just a guardian—he was family. They shared a home, a life, and a mutual devotion. Regto shielded Rudo from the world’s cruelty, even giving him gloves to hide his scars. Rudo, in turn, worked hard scavenging to help support them. The day Rudo came home to find Regto gone forever, his world shattered.

Enjin &Rudo
Enjin
When Rudo first tumbled into the Pit and nearly became Trash Beast prey, it was Enjin of the Cleaners who saved him. That rescue became the start of a brotherly bond. Enjin taught him how to survive in the harsh underworld, looking out for him much like Regto once had.

Zanka
Zanka
Zanka is Rudo’s assigned mentor in the Cleaners—and his frequent sparring partner. Claiming to be “super average,” Zanka detests geniuses, which makes Rudo’s exceptional abilities a constant source of friction. From their first meeting, the two clashed, even fighting with their Vital Instruments. They might not get along, but the sparks between them make their interactions oddly compelling.

Riyo
Riyo
Riyo is only the second girl Rudo has ever befriended. Because of a past trauma involving a girl named Chiwa, Rudo finds her both approachable and slightly intimidating. When she touches his hair, he freezes. When she strolls into his room uninvited, he startles like someone caught off guard.
Unlike Zanka, Riyo has shown no hesitation in approaching Rudo from the very start. She even wanders into his bedroom uninvited, suggesting a genuine personal interest in him. However, there’s been no indication so far of any romantic feelings between them.
Rudo’s Story So Far
Rudo’s gift for finding value in discarded things isn’t just a skill—it’s a reflection of his heart. As the series unfolds, we watch him grow, piece by piece, while the mysteries of his past slowly surface. Where he’ll go from here, and what choices he’ll make, is anyone’s guess—but it’s hard not to root for him.
