Comments from the Cast and Crew
Kento Yamazaki as Saichi Sugimoto
"The Golden Kamuy sequel is coming to theaters in March next year!
Sugimoto and the others will finally reach Abashiri Prison.
The fierce three-way battle for the gold continues!
New characters appear, and several fan-favorite scenes from the original manga are brought to life. This film offers a different flavor and better pacing compared to the last one, with even higher production quality!
I’m truly excited to bring this new chapter of Sugimoto’s story to audiences on the big screen again.
Look forward to the powered-up Golden Kamuy sequel!"
Anna Yamada as Asirpa
"I’m very happy to play Asirpa again.
This film focuses on Abashiri and the mysterious Noppera-bo, who plays a central role in the story.
I approached the role with sincerity and care, hoping to convey the depth of the character.
I believe this sequel will be something we can all be proud to present to fans eagerly awaiting the continuation.
I hope you're looking forward to its release!"
Satoru Noda (Original Author)
"The Abashiri Prison arc marks a major turning point in the Golden Kamuy story.
I’m sure the production staff poured their hearts into it.
I visited the studio once and was overwhelmed by the life-size prison gate set.
I sincerely hope everyone gets to witness the spectacular Abashiri Prison on the big screen.
I had even hoped for a cameo as a prisoner who gets killed in the cellblock, and they had the prison uniform ready for me—but scheduling conflicts meant I had to give it up.
I really wanted to be killed by Lieutenant Tsurumi..."
Director Kenji Katagiri
"Though we were told there wouldn’t be snow, we ended up facing snowfall daily.
Sets collapsed under the weight of heavy snow, and we were at nature’s mercy throughout the shoot.
Mr. Noda gave us many ideas, especially for parts of the story difficult to visualize.
I’m deeply grateful for his sincere advice despite his busy schedule.
The Assault on Abashiri Prison arc intricately weaves various characters’ motives—
I hope everyone experiences this on the big screen!"
Producer Shinzo Matsuhashi (CREDEUS)

The story is thrilling, the mystery keeps the plot driving forward, the life-or-death action scenes will move you, and the love and friendship bring heartfelt emotion—and yes, there’s guaranteed laughter too.
Don’t worry if you haven’t caught up—there will be a recap at the beginning of the movie.
Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the series, you’re in for a treat!"
Producer Ryo Otaki (WOWOW)
"I’m delighted that the previous film was watched and loved by so many people.
Sugimoto and the others are now reaching the critical turning point in the gold hunt.
We’ve once again gathered a fantastic cast and crew for this installment.
New characters will also make their debut—stay tuned for that reveal!
This film brings an even grander story and visuals, crafted with the collective wisdom of everyone involved.
