USJ Unveils 2025 Zombies with King Gnu Dance, New Attraction, Hamikuma Candy, and M3GAN Appearance

Universal Studios Japan in Osaka kicked off its 2025 Halloween event on September 4, with the highly anticipated Halloween Horror Nights set to begin on September 5. On the evening of September 3, the park previewed its new “Street Zombies” to the press, offering a first look at the terrifying atmosphere. The debut included an updated “Zombie de Dance” segment featuring a brand-new song, "SO BAD," written by King Gnu.

Street Zombies Return with King Gnu’s New Dance Track

Hollywood Street at USJ was plunged into eerie darkness as crowds witnessed the dramatic return of Street Zombies. A swarm of feral undead emerged, transforming the area into a chaotic scene. The atmosphere shifted into high energy as King Gnu’s specially written track “SO BAD” blasted through the speakers, launching the revamped “Zombie de Dance” segment. Guests danced along with the zombies in a frenzy of music and movement.

Factory of Fear Attraction Revealed for the First Time

Also making its debut was a brand-new horror maze attraction titled Factory of Fear: Despair Zombie Tour. Set in a terrifying zombie manufacturing facility, the indoor maze challenges guests to escape while being relentlessly pursued by zombies. The attraction reveals how the park’s infamous zombies are created and continue to evolve, giving fans a deeper glimpse into the horror behind the scenes.

New Hamikuma and M3GAN Appear in Special Events

This year’s event also introduces a new character in the Hamikuma lineup—Hamikuma Candy—who stars in the Hamikuma Sweet Scream Party. Adding to the chaos, multiple AI dolls from the film M3GAN make surprise appearances throughout the park in a special segment titled M3GAN’s Attack. These sudden encounters enhance the unpredictability and intensity of the night’s scares.
