What is One Punch Man about?

One Punch Man follows Saitama, a lone superhero who has pushed himself through an intense training program that left him able to defeat any opponent with A SINGLE PUNCH! However, this overwhelming strength leaves him bored with his hero activities, as no enemy poses a real challenge. He sets out on a mission to find stronger opponents and crosses paths with other heroes along the way.

One Punch Man began as a webcomic created by ONE, which quickly gained massive popularity online. A digital manga remake illustrated by Yusuke Murata followed, starting publication on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website in June 2012. The remake has since been compiled into dozens of volumes and licensed by Viz Media for English release, solidifying its place as one of the best-selling manga series of all time with tens of millions of copies in circulation.

The success of the manga led to an anime adaptation, first produced by Madhouse (season 1) and later by J.C. Staff (season 2, also season 3 in-production), which brought Saitama’s story of overwhelming strength and comedic heroics to an even wider global audience.
