Dandadan Season 3 Announced! Who Is the Girl from the Finale, Why Was She Inside the Kaiju…? The Story Continues.

The TV anime Dandadan has officially announced the production of its third season. Alongside the announcement, a celebratory visual featuring Momo Ayase, Okarun (Ken Takakura), and Turbo Granny was released.

In the Season 2 finale, Momo and her friends used the giant Buddha robot and their powers to defeat the space kaiju. Since the defeated creature had shrunk in size, they couldn’t leave it lying around in the city. Okarun and Jiji decided to carry it to Momo’s house.

As they inspected the kaiju, Okarun noticed a zipper on its body. When he unzipped it, a beautiful girl appeared from within. To everyone’s shock, the girl suddenly kissed Okarun as she woke up—just as Momo walked in and saw it happen.

Season 3 will delve into the identity of this mysterious girl and why she was inside the kaiju.

The anime is based on the popular manga serialized in Shonen Jump+ (Shueisha). The story follows high school girl Momo Ayase (born into a family of spirit mediums) and her classmate, the occult-obsessed Okarun (Ken Takakura), as they confront supernatural phenomena in a chaotic mix of paranormal battles and teenage drama.

The unique battle-fantasy setting centered around the occult has captured fans’ attention, with the manga surpassing 10 million copies in circulation. The first season aired from October to December 2024, and the second from July to September 2025.
