YAIBA Season 2 “Kaguya Arc” Confirmed! New PV Released, Cast Comments Included

A second season of the TV anime Shin Samurai Legend YAIBA has been officially confirmed, featuring the “Kaguya Arc.” Along with the announcement, a new visual and promotional video (PV) have been released. Comments from Ami Koshimizu, who voices Kaguya, and Koki Uchiyama, who voices Tsukikage (Moon Shadow), have also arrived.

In episode 24, the final episode of the first season, a massive ship suddenly appears in the sky. From the ship emerges Kaguya, the ruler of the moon, said to have awakened from a thousand-year slumber. Yaiba Kurogane vows to become the greatest samurai in the land to protect Japan from Kaguya, while his rival Takeshi Onimaru sets his sights on world domination. Season 2, titled the “Kaguya Arc,” will depict the intense three-way conflict among these characters.

The new visual shows Yaiba raising the Raijin Sword, Kaguya with a seductive smile, and Onimaru with a piercing gaze. In the newly released PV, both Yaiba and Onimaru are taken aback by the sudden appearance of Kaguya. Sayaka Mine and Musashi Miyamoto are seen riding on Shonosuke, while Tsukikage, one of Kaguya’s close aides, also makes an appearance. As Kaguya declares her ambition to become the queen of Earth, the mystery surrounding her identity and the ancient grudge that has reawakened begin to unfold. The PV builds anticipation for Yaiba’s ongoing pursuit of greater strength.

Ami Koshimizu (Kaguya)

I am honored to be part of a series I watched as a child, though I also feel a lot of pressure. At the time, Kaguya was a terrifying figure to me. I vividly remember the scene where a girl turns into an old woman. I wonder if I can deliver a performance that leaves the same kind of impact. It will be a challenge, but I will give it my all.

Koki Uchiyama (Tsukikage)
