The television anime My Hero Academia, commonly known as HeroAca, reached its conclusion with Episode 11 of My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, the 170th episode overall, titled “My Hero Academia.” The final episode aired on December 13 on the Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV network during its regular Saturday evening broadcast slot.

On the same day, a special marathon screening event titled “My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON ULTRA SCREENING” was held in Tokyo to celebrate the end of the series.

The event was attended by Daiki Yamashita as Izuku Midoriya, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Katsuki Bakugo, Ayane Sakura as Ochaco Uraraka, Kaito Ishikawa as Tenya Iida, Marina Inoue as Momo Yaoyorozu, Yuu Hatanaka as Denki Kaminari, Kenta Miyake as All Might, and Koki Uchiyama as Tomura Shigaraki.

Ayane Sakura Overwhelmed with Emotion From the Opening Moments

As the cast reflected on recording stories and nearly ten years of memories, Daiki Yamashita and Nobuhiko Okamoto began the opening remarks. During their conversation, tears had already begun to well up in Ayane Sakura’s eyes.

When it came time for her greeting, Sakura struggled to continue after saying, “I play Ochaco Uraraka,” becoming visibly emotional and unable to finish her sentence. Marina Inoue gently wiped away her tears on stage. Sakura also spoke about the relationship between Ochaco Uraraka and Himiko Toga, but once again found herself overcome with emotion.

Shortly afterward, the live broadcast of the event began. Regaining her composure, Sakura shyly addressed the audience, apologizing for crying the moment she stepped on stage and admitting that she had lost her composure earlier.

Following the talk session, the final episode was screened at the venue. Many cast members were seen wiping away tears during the viewing, and Sakura herself was visibly sobbing as the episode played. When still images from the final episode appeared on the screen afterward, emotions surged once more, and tears filled Sakura’s eyes again.

Having finally gathered her thoughts, Sakura delivered her closing remarks with sincerity. She apologized for showing what she called an ungraceful side of herself, then expressed her hope that My Hero Academia would continue to reach those who need it.

She added that while the television series has come to an end for now, she would be deeply grateful if fans continue to cherish both the original manga and the anime adaptation.

About My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is based on the hugely popular manga by Kohei Horikoshi, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump published by Shueisha from 2014 to 2024. Set in a world where superhuman abilities known as Quirks are commonplace, the story follows Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he strives to become a hero who protects society from villains who misuse their powers. He trains alongside his peers at the prestigious U.A. High School, a leading academy for aspiring heroes.

The anime began airing in 2016 and continued through seven seasons, with FINAL SEASON serving as the eighth and final chapter of the long running hero action series.
