"Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!" Cast Return: Main Character Mirai Asahina Becomes a University Student! Video Release Brings Tears to Rie Takahashi
The cast information for the sequel to the TV anime "Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!" (MahoPre) titled "Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!! MIRAI DAYS" has been released. Rie Takahashi will reprise her role as Mirai Asahina/Cure Miracle, Yui Horie as Riko Izayoi/Cure Magical, Saori Hayami as Kotoha Hanami/Cure Felice, and Ayaka Saito as Mofurun. A surprise video of the moment the four cast members were called for the new project was also revealed, showing Takahashi in tears.
"Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!" is the 13th installment of the "Pretty Cure" series, which aired from February 2016 to January 2017. It is a miraculous and magical story connecting the "Magic World" and the "Nashimaho World (Human World)." This sequel is part of a new initiative of the "Pretty Cure" series, which started in 2004, aimed at fans who grew up with the series. The concept is to provide content that these now-adult fans can continue to enjoy. Following the first project "Kibou no Chikara Otona Pretty Cure '23" (aired in October 2023), this is the second installment.
The sequel will be broadcast in the late-night anime slot "ANiMAZiNG!!!" on ABC TV and TV Asahi (every Saturday at 26:00) starting January 11, 2025. This will be the first time a "Pretty Cure" series airs in a late-night slot.
■ Rie Takahashi (Mirai Asahina/Cure Miracle)
-- Your thoughts when you heard the sequel was confirmed!
The wish for a sequel crossed my mind many times. But I tried not to think about it too much, not to get my hopes up in case it didn't happen. Even though I had been preparing myself for years, I was surprised at how the tears flowed when I heard the news. I wanted to see everyone again!!!
-- Your feelings about reprising the role of Mirai Asahina/Cure Miracle.
Thankfully, I've had several opportunities to record as Cure Miracle for MahoPre, so I think I'll be fine with the voice! The challenge is that Mirai Asahina is now a university student... In fact, I haven't had much experience playing her in that stage of life. I want to properly face what Mirai values, what has changed, and what hasn't in "MIRAI DAYS"!
-- A message for everyone looking forward to the new series.
Thank you so much for your constant support for the Pretty Cure series and "Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!" I'm excited and a bit nervous about how everyone will receive the first late-night Pretty Cure. It's a miraculous opportunity, and the MahoPre team will give it our all! Kyuaapu Rapaapa! I hope "Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!! MIRAI DAYS" will be a thrilling experience for everyone!
■ Yui Horie (Riko Izayoi/Cure Magical)

I'm simply thrilled to reunite with Riko and everyone! It might be challenging to actually perform, but for now, I am very excited! I'm brimming with anticipation (laughs).

I don't know much about the storyline yet, but I'm sure it will be an enjoyable work! Whether you're familiar with the series or new to it, I hope you'll watch and enjoy it!
■ Saori Hayami (Kotoha Hanami/Cure Felice)
-- Your thoughts when you heard the sequel was confirmed!
I felt a mix of surprise, joy, and excitement. "Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!" is not only a wonderful story with warm-hearted fans, but the bonds among the cast and staff are also very strong. Even after the recording ended, we kept in touch regularly, which made the announcement even more joyful. I am deeply grateful to producer Naito and everyone who brought this sequel to life with their immense love for MahoPre!
-- Your feelings about reprising the role of Kotoha Hanami/Cure Felice.
I can only say I'm overjoyed and my heart is full. In MahoPre, Haa-chan evolved from a baby to an adult. I wonder what she'll be like this time... I'm very excited to find out! Haa-chan!
-- A message for everyone looking forward to the new series.
The sequel is starting, everyone! "MIRAI DAYS" promises to be an exciting story. I'm looking forward to seeing the world of MahoPre come alive again. I hope we can all make this a wonderful experience. Please look forward to the broadcast!

Thanks to producer Naito and all the staff, I was overwhelmed with a special miracle, magical Felice surprise. My heart was in an all-attraction state of excitement, gradually filled with nervousness, joy, and anticipation! I was enveloped in the lingering thrill for a while! I was very happy to share that moment with everyone and felt immense gratitude to everyone who prepared it.
-- Your feelings about reprising the role of Mofurun.
I feel like I've returned home with a hearty "I'm back!" I'll listen, feel, and face this role with my current self. I'll enjoy every moment, working together with Rie-chan, Yui-san, Saori-chan, and everyone else.
