Scum of the Brave Episode 3 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Jogamine and the Others Push Yashiro to Train Them

The story and preview images for Episode 3 of the TV anime Scum of the Brave (JP: 勇者のクズ) have been revealed. This episode is scheduled to air on Saturday, January 25 at 12:55 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 3 Story

While Yashiro is enjoying a card game at BAR Goonies, Jōgamine, Indō, and Sara suddenly show up to confront him. The trio, who are on the verge of failing at the academy, beg Yashiro to take them on as their master and train them. Wanting nothing to do with the hassle, Yashiro drives them away. However, Indō refuses to give up and later ambushes Yashiro to press the issue.

At that very moment, Lord Morote no Kusabi (JP: 諸手の楔), a retainer of the Demon King who has been stalking Yashiro, launches an attack…

Introduction

“Being a hero is a job for the lowest kind of scum.”

In the mid-21st century, Tokyo’s criminal underworld is ruled by mafias who have become “Demon Kings” through ether (magical power) enhancement surgery. The bounty hunters who take down these Demon Kings are known as “heroes.”

Heroes enhance their ether abilities with a drug called E3 in order to stand against the Demon Kings. Killing is legalized for them, turning the role of a hero into a profession that is, quite literally, one of murder.

Amid this, a self-proclaimed “disciple” suddenly shows up at the door of Yashiro, a freelance hero known as the “Grim Reaper.” She is Jōgamine, a high school girl training to become a hero. Though reluctant, Yashiro takes her in, only to find himself dragged into a series of thoroughly rotten incidents.
