Star Detective Precure Episode 2 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Anna Is Led by Pochitan to a Mysterious Patisserie

The story and preview images for Episode 2 of the new TV anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long-running Precure franchise, have been revealed. The series is set to begin airing on February 8.

Episode 2 Story

Shocked to discover that she has no home in the world of 1999, Anna is taken by Mikuru to the Curette Detective Agency, a place said to be home to the “senior members of Star Detective Precure.”

There, they meet Jett, a self-proclaimed genius doctor and a 222-year-old fairy. From him, they learn that Pochitan, a “Fairy of Time and Space,” is the cause of the time slip. However, after exhausting all of his powers, Pochitan has reverted into the form of a baby. If Anna and Mikuru can collect many Makoto Jewels, Pochitan may be able to return to his original form, and Anna might also be able to go back to her own world.

After Anna and Pochitan spend the night at the detective agency, Mikuru comes to visit again the next day. In a sudden turn of events, Pochitan grabs Anna and dashes outside. Mikuru and Jett follow after them, eventually arriving at a patisserie. There, they find novelist Eliza Kurusu, who is troubled after losing her beloved glass pen.

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
