Tensura: Nine New Scene Photos Revealed for Tears of the Azure Sea Anime Film, Featuring Rimuru and Original Characters on a Resort Island

Nine brand new scene photos have been released for the anime film That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Azure Sea, which is scheduled for release in Japan on February 27. The newly unveiled images showcase Rimuru and his companions enjoying a brief vacation on a resort island, alongside appearances by original characters introduced in this theatrical installment.

Resort Island Scenes After the Founding Festival

Following the conclusion of the Founding Festival of the Jura Tempest Federation, Rimuru, Veldora, Benimaru, Shuna, Shion, Soei, Gobta, Hinata, Luminous, Elmesia, and Milim are shown spending a short period of rest on a resort island. The newly released scene photos capture the group fully enjoying the island atmosphere.

Dressed in resort outfits that differ from their usual attire, the characters are depicted admiring the scenery, savoring delicious local food, and heading out for fishing as they enjoy their vacation. One of the images also features Yura, a character they encounter on the island, happily eating the local specialty with visible delight.

About That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime tells the story of Satoru Mikami, an ordinary office worker who is killed in a random stabbing incident and reincarnated in another world as a slime named Rimuru. Armed with powerful skills, Rimuru uses his intelligence and courage to build a nation where all races can live together peacefully, steadily gaining allies along the way.

The original work began serialization on the web novel platform Shosetsuka ni Naro and later expanded into a manga adaptation, gaining widespread popularity. The series has surpassed 56 million copies in cumulative circulation. The anime adaptation premiered in October 2018, followed by Season 2 airing from January to March and July to September 2021, and Season 3 from April to September 2024. A theatrical anime film was released in 2022, and production of Season 4 has also been confirmed.

This new theatrical film is a completely original work based on a story conceived and fully supervised by the original author Fuse. Set in the underwater Kingdom of Cayenne, the film depicts Rimuru and his companions as they head to Cayenne to rescue Yura, delivering a brand new chapter in the Slime series.
