Actor Fumiya Takahashi (JP: 高橋文哉) appeared at the production announcement event for the live action film Blue Lock, held in Tokyo on the 7th. A Three Year Journey Toward Yoichi Isagi

Takahashi reflected on the moment he was approached to star in the live action adaptation, sharing the complex emotions he has carried since then.

“When I was first asked to take on this live action Blue Lock film and the role of Yoichi Isagi, that was about three years ago,” he said. “From that very moment, I felt a mixture of resolve, pressure, and excitement growing inside me, and that is what has led me to stand here today. From the instant I received the offer, there has not been a single day when the role of Yoichi Isagi or the world of Blue Lock left my mind.”

He spoke with visible tension as he described the weight of responsibility he felt stepping into the role of such an iconic character.

Facing the Role With His Own Ego

Takahashi went on to emphasize that his approach to Blue Lock differed from his previous works.

“The feelings I have poured into this project are unlike anything I have experienced before. I believe I have faced this role with my own form of ‘ego,’” he said with confidence. “I truly cannot wait for the day when everyone will finally be able to see it.”

His remarks highlighted the level of dedication he has invested in bringing Yoichi Isagi to life, further raising anticipation for the film’s release.
