Ryunosuke Kamiki Celebrated by Hiromasa Yonebayashi With Wedding Illustration Featuring Arrietty Characters

Ryunosuke Kamiki, known for his roles in Studio Ghibli works, has announced his marriage, drawing heartfelt congratulations from director Hiromasa Yonebayashi.

Following the announcement by actor Ryunosuke Kamiki, 32, that he has gotten married, anime director Hiromasa Yonebayashi, 52, updated his official X account on the 11th. He shared an illustration to celebrate Kamiki’s marriage.


Kamiki voiced Sho in Arrietty, directed by Yonebayashi and produced by Studio Ghibli, and Peter in Mary and the Witch’s Flower, produced by Studio Ponoc. In both films, Kamiki played key roles as a voice actor.

Yonebayashi posted an illustration featuring Sho and Peter together, writing, “Congratulations on your marriage, Kamiki kun.” The post quickly drew attention from fans, with comments such as “It is absolutely wonderful,” “A two shot of Sho and Peter,” and “Arrietty is there too.”

Kamiki announced his marriage on the 10th through his agency. In a statement, he said, “I am filled with gratitude for the support I have received over the years. I will continue to work hard so that I can keep doing the acting I love.”

Born on May 19, 1993, in Saitama Prefecture, Kamiki made his breakthrough in 2005 when he starred in the film The Great Yokai War, earning the Newcomer of the Year award at the 29th Japan Academy Prize. He has appeared in numerous works, including the NHK morning drama series Ranman in 2023 and the live action Rurouni Kenshin film series.

As a voice actor, Kamiki has also appeared in major animated films such as Spirited Away and Your Name. In November 2023, he starred as Koichi Shikishima in the film Godzilla Minus One.
